Program enables faster, more accurate data collection to help optimize tire performance

DALLAS, Texas, Jan. 28, 2019 – Nearly one million commercial truck tires have been inspected using The Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company’s Tire Optix commercial tire management program since it was introduced in early 2018.

Goodyear Tire Optix enables faster, more accurate collection of critical tire data like inflation and tread depth levels; automatic uploading of tire data to a cloud-based platform for password-protected storage; and instant downloading for immediate viewing by fleets

The program is part of Goodyear’s Total Solution of trusted products, reliable services and fleet management tools, delivered by a nationwide network dedicated to helping fleets lower their operating costs.

The Goodyear Commercial Tire & Service Network is made up of more than 2,300 Goodyear Commercial Tire & Service Center and authorized Goodyear commercial tire dealer locations throughout North America.

Tire Optix helped identify inflation pressure or tread wear conditions that required corrective action in 15% of the nearly one million tires inspected since the program’s inception.

"Tires are one of the largest expenses for trucking fleets and should be managed properly for optimal performance and to help prevent expensive vehicle downtime," said Johnny McIntosh, general manager, Services and Solutions, Commercial Tires.

"Goodyear Tire Optix eliminates the need for manual collection and entry of tire data," said McIntosh. "And fleets can view the tire information collected by Tire Optix in real time, enabling them to identify maintenance opportunities and immediately adjust their tire management programs, if needed."

"The Goodyear Tire Optix program is the next step in the evolution of truck tire management," said McIntosh. "It gives our commercial tire dealers another powerful tool that they can take to fleets to help enhance their operational efficiency and lower their cost-per-mile."
